Thermal imaging giant FLIR acquires drone manufacturer Altavian in a move to provide “comprehensive mission coverage within Group 1 Unmanned Systems for Defense Customers,” says a FLIR release today. “FLIR Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: FLIR) announced today that it has acquired Altavian, Inc., a privately-held manufacturer of small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS) for defense.

A day ahead of the start of the C-band spectrum auction, Ericsson said it managed to reach 1.5 Gbit/s speeds on the band using its advanced MIMO equipment.

Omnipack, a Polish fulfilment provider, has raised another 2.5 million euros in funding, which brings its total to 5 million euros. The startup, which manages logistics operations for ecommerce companies, wants to use the money to further expand in Europe.
